No real fluctuating of speed between 300k and 1.5M as generally seen in wireless internet. No packet loss and very low latency connections are commonly seen at even the most distant customer's houses. Downtimes are rare. The last time Medicine Park Telephone Company had a total internet outage, it was a problem that was in Oklahoma City, and was repaired in a few hours. This was nearly 7 months ago. NOTE DSL requires an adsl modem. Mptelco has them for $99.00, but you are welcome to find your own at whatever price you can get them. We do not force the customer to buy our modem. We only ask that you call before purchasing another modem so that you we can do our best to make sure it will work with our system. Our DSL equipment is DSL2+ and some older modems will either not work with the new standard, or will require a firmware update. We have never yet had a problem making a modem work that a customer has gotten from somewhere else. However it still remains a possible issue, so please let us help you try to pick the modem you purchase. Several customers have used SBC modems, and some have gotten modems from ebay for under $20. The ebay method is a little risky, but if you have been using ebay for a while, you understand that risk and will probably use good judgement.
